What to Ask Your Wedding Photographer?

Choosing the right photographer for your wedding is crucial. They capture the moments you’ll cherish for a lifetime. Here are some vital questions to ask, along with insightful answers to guide you in selecting the perfect photographer for your big day.

Assistance on Your Wedding Day

Q: Will you have any assistants with you on our wedding day? A: Depending on the size and scale of your wedding, I may bring an assistant or a second photographer. This ensures that every moment is captured, especially during simultaneous events. If an assistant is not typically part of the package, we can discuss adding one for an additional fee.

Familiarity with Venues

Q: Have you ever shot a wedding at our ceremony and reception venues? If not, do you plan to check the venues out in advance? A: While I may not have photographed a wedding at your specific venue, I make it a point to familiarize myself with new locations. I’ll arrive early to scout the best spots for photos, ensuring that I’m fully prepared to capture your special day.

Photography Style

Q: How would you describe your photography style? A: My photography style is a blend of candid moments and composed elegance, with an autumn sunset colour palette. It’s important to review my portfolio to ensure that my style aligns with the vision you have for your wedding album.

Package Details

Q: Can I customize a package to fit my needs? A: Absolutely! I’m happy to tailor packages to suit your specific requirements. We can discuss what elements are most important to you and adjust accordingly.

Coverage Hours

Q: How many hours are included in each package? How much do extra hours cost? A: Each package includes a set number of hours, typically covering the preparation to the end of the reception. Additional hours can be arranged at a predetermined rate to ensure every moment is captured.

Image Delivery

Q: How long after the wedding will we receive the images? How will they be delivered? A: You can expect to receive your images within a few weeks to a month after the wedding. They will be delivered through a secure online gallery and a USB drive, with options for prints and albums available.

Specific Shot Requests

Q: Can we request a list of specific shots we would like? A: While I aim to document the day authentically, I welcome a list of must-have shots. This ensures that no special moments or people are missed.

Sharing Your Wedding

Q: Will you be posting about our wedding on your website and social media? Will you be submitting our photos to magazines or blogs? A: With your permission, I would love to feature your wedding on my portfolio and social media. Any submissions to magazines or blogs would also be discussed with you beforehand.

Your wedding photography is a personal and significant decision. These questions and answers should help you feel confident in choosing a photographer ( me hopefully hehe) who will capture your day exactly how you envision it.
