FAQ
You’re probably here because you have questions — not just about pricing or availability, but about how this all actually works, whether you’ll feel comfortable, and if this is the right step for you. That’s completely normal. This page exists to answer the things people often wonder but don’t always know how to ask: what happens during a shoot, how to prepare, what to expect, and how to know if I’m the right photographer for you. There’s no pressure to book here — just clarity. My goal is to help you feel informed, confident, and sure in your decision, whatever that may be.
What do I wear for a photoshoot?

This is one of the most common questions—and a really important one. What you wear plays a big role in how relaxed, confident, and timeless your images feel. Rather than giving a one-size-fits-all answer here, I’ve put together a complete styling guide that walks you through colours, textures, fits, and what photographs beautifully on camera (without feeling overstyled).
👉 You can read the full guide here: What to Wear for Your Photoshoot: A Complete Styling Guide for Timeless, Natural Images.
If you’re ever unsure, I’m also happy to help you refine choices once your shoot is booked.
How do I look natural in photos?

The good news is—you don’t need to know how to pose or be “good” in front of the camera. Most of my clients start out feeling a little unsure, and that’s completely normal. My approach is very relaxed and guided, focusing on movement, natural interactions, and giving you just enough direction so nothing feels forced or awkward. You’re not expected to perform; you’re simply encouraged to be present. The most natural images always come from comfort, not perfection.
Do I really need brand photos?

That depends on where you’re at—but if you’re asking the question, you’re usually closer than you think. Brand photos aren’t about looking polished for the sake of it; they’re about clarity. If your business has evolved, your audience has grown, or your visuals no longer reflect who you are now, professional brand imagery helps align how you feel about your brand with how it’s seen. It’s less about needing photos, and more about supporting the direction you’re already moving in.
What are your packages and costs?

I offer a range of photography options depending on the type of shoot, location, and what you need the images for. Packages start at R3000, and from there are tailored to suit different goals—whether that’s branding, lifestyle, family, or something more specific.
To keep things clear and personal, I don’t list all pricing publicly. When you email me, I’ll send through a full PDF catalogue outlining everything I offer, so you can take your time reviewing it and see what feels right for you—no pressure.
How many photos do I get?

This is a great question, and the answer depends on the type of shoot and what it’s designed to support. Rather than focusing on a specific number, I focus on delivering a strong, intentional gallery that tells your story and gives you images you can confidently use long-term. Creating just a handful of final images requires the same level of planning, shooting time, and post-production as a full gallery, which is why I don’t offer very small image-only packages. Each of my packages is thoughtfully structured to allow for variety, flexibility, and a relaxed experience, ensuring your gallery feels complete and meaningful. If you’d like a deeper look into how galleries are curated and why this approach benefits you, 👉 You can read the full guide here: How Many Photos Do I Get? (And Why the Number Isn’t the Point)
What happens if something unexpected comes up on the day of the shoot?

Life happens, and I always aim to handle changes with clarity and fairness for both of us. Your shoot date is secured once payment is made in full. If you arrive late, that time will naturally come out of your scheduled shooting time, as I often work around golden hour and other time-sensitive conditions. If you’re feeling unwell on the day, that’s absolutely okay—your health comes first. We’ll simply reschedule and choose a new date that suits us both. In the case of rain or unsuitable weather, your shoot will also be moved to the next mutually available date. Last-minute cancellations are not refundable, as the date has been reserved specifically for you. And for peace of mind: I always arrive with backup equipment, so your shoot is never at risk due to technical issues.
How much time do I actually need for my photoshoot?

One of the most common questions I get from clients is: “How much time do I actually need for my photoshoot?” And the honest answer is — it depends entirely on you, your story, and the type of session you’re booking.
Photography isn’t just about showing up, snapping a few images, and calling it a day. It’s about creating an environment where real moments can unfold naturally. That takes time — but more importantly, it takes the right amount of time for each unique session.
Let’s walk through why different shoots require different session lengths, and how choosing the right package can completely transform your experience (and your final gallery). 👉 You can read the full guide here: How Long Should Your Photoshoot Be? Choosing the Right Time for Your Unique Session
Are winter photoshoots worth it in Cape Town?

A big fat YES — winter is actually one of the most beautiful and underrated times for photoshoots in Cape Town.
From soft flattering light and dramatic moody skies to lush green landscapes and cosy layered outfits, winter creates a far more emotional and cinematic atmosphere than many people expect. The cooler weather also means more comfortable sessions, happier dogs, and more natural connection without the pressure of harsh summer heat or overly posed moments.

I actually wrote an entire blog post about why winter might secretly be the BEST season for photoshoots in Cape Town, covering everything from winter light and cosy aesthetics to at-home sessions and why cloudy weather photographs beautifully.

Do You Photograph Content for Small Businesses and Creators?

Absolutely — it’s actually one of my favourite things to photograph.
I love working with small businesses, entrepreneurs, creators, and personal brands to create natural, storytelling-focused content for websites, social media, marketing, and branding campaigns. My approach focuses on creating imagery that feels authentic, warm, and visually aligned with your brand rather than overly stiff or corporate.
I’ve also written extensively about branding photography, how it can help your business grow, and how to prepare for a successful branding shoot, so be sure to explore the blog section on for more helpful tips and inspiration.
How Do I Prepare for My First Professional Photoshoot?

Preparing for your first professional photoshoot is much easier than most people think. You do not need to know how to pose or arrive with everything perfectly planned — that’s where I guide you through the process. Before your shoot, we’ll chat about your brand, your vision, the story you want to tell, outfit ideas, locations, and the overall feeling you want your photos to have. My approach is very relaxed and natural, so instead of stiff poses, we focus on creating authentic moments that truly reflect who you are and what your brand stands for.

What do I do if I don't like the photo's my photographer sent?

If you don’t like your final photos, it often comes down to choosing a photographer whose style, experience, or approach didn’t align with what you were actually looking for. A photographer can only deliver work consistent with the portfolio they showcase online, which is why proper research before booking is so important. Your comfort, energy, expectations, and connection with the photographer also play a huge role in the final outcome. This is exactly why choosing the right photographer is such a personal decision. If you want to understand this deeper, I recently wrote an article discussing exactly why choosing the right photographer matters so much, and how it directly affects both the experience and final outcome of your shoot.
