There are photoshoots… and then there are experiences.
Wumi’s Cape Town session was more than a shoot — it was a celebration of travel, luxury, confidence, and the kind of beauty that only happens when a woman fully owns her moment. And somewhere between the yacht deck and the golden glow of sunset on Camps Bay, I realised something: photographing visitors experiencing Cape Town has become my absolute favourite thing to shoot.
This one? Unforgettable.

A Nigerian Queen in the Mother City
Wumi travelled from Nigeria to Cape Town with one intention — to soak it all in. The ocean. The mountains. The luxury. The freedom. And she wanted every second captured.
There’s something incredibly special about photographing someone seeing and experiencing our city through fresh eyes. It reminds me why I fell in love with Cape Town in the first place. The drama of the landscapes. The softness of the light. The way the ocean wraps around the city like it was placed here intentionally for moments like these.
Wumi didn’t just arrive — she arrived as a queen.
From the very beginning, her energy set the tone. Confident, warm, and completely present. She wasn’t rushing through locations or treating it like a checklist. She embraced every setting, every outfit change, every shift in light. That’s what elevates a shoot from beautiful to breath-taking — intention.
And that intention showed in every frame.
Yacht Elegance on the Atlantic
We began on the water.
The yacht shoot was effortlessly glamorous — wind in her scarf, bold sunglasses, the deep blue Atlantic stretching endlessly behind her. She wore the most striking orange dress that danced against the ocean tones. It was powerful. Feminine. Cinematic.
There’s something about photographing a woman on a yacht in Cape Town that just works. The contrast of luxury and nature. The sparkle of sunlight on the water. The way confidence shifts when someone feels completely in their element.
Wumi was radiant — poised but playful, relaxed yet commanding. Every frame felt editorial. She moved with grace, and the ocean became her backdrop, not the main character.
And that’s the magic of these experience shoots — the location is iconic, yes… but the woman? She’s the story.
As the yacht cut through the water, the city skyline shimmered in the distance. The breeze lifted her scarf just enough to create that sense of movement I adore capturing. Those unscripted in-between moments — a soft smile, a glance over her shoulder, sunlight hitting her cheekbone — those are the images that feel alive.
Luxury isn’t just about the setting. It’s about how you feel in it. And Wumi felt powerful.
Vintage Glamour Beneath Lion’s Head & Table Mountain
From the yacht, we shifted into timeless elegance.
A classic vintage car. Flowing chiffon. Warm golden light. And behind her, the unmistakable silhouettes of Lion’s Head and Table Mountain standing proudly over the city.
There’s something so iconic about pairing old-world charm with Cape Town’s rugged beauty. The vintage car added that layer of sophistication — it felt like stepping into a European summer film set, except we were right here in the Mother City.
Wumi wore a soft, flowing dress that caught the breeze perfectly. She leaned against the car with effortless confidence, the mountains rising dramatically behind her. It was luxury lifestyle meets African landscape — refined, powerful, unforgettable.
The way the golden light wrapped around her skin tone… pure magic. As a photographer, those are the moments you chase — the ones where everything aligns. Styling. Location. Energy. Presence.
And Wumi delivered every single time.

This part of the shoot felt cinematic in a completely different way from the yacht. It was grounded. Earthy. Timeless. The textures of the rocks, the stillness of the water nearby, the strength of the mountains — everything contrasted beautifully with the softness of her dress.
It’s in these moments that Cape Town truly shows off. Nowhere else in the world can you have ocean, mountain, and vintage glamour colliding in one frame so effortlessly.
Ending at Camps Bay: Sunset & Soft Power
We ended the day at Camps Bay beach as the sun dipped low over the Atlantic.
Sunset at Camps Bay is always breath-taking, but when you have someone like Wumi in front of your lens — glowing, confident, fully present — it becomes something else entirely.
Barefoot on the sand. The sky melting into peach and gold. The Twelve Apostles casting their dramatic shadows. The kind of luxury that isn’t loud, but powerful in its simplicity.
This wasn’t just about beautiful outfits or stunning backdrops. It was about capturing a woman in her element while she experienced Cape Town on her terms.
As the light softened, everything slowed down. The crowds faded into the background, and it felt like the beach belonged to her. That final golden glow is always my favourite part of any shoot — when the world turns warm and intimate.
Those last frames felt like the closing scene of a film. A woman who travelled across the continent, embraced the experience fully, and allowed herself to be seen.

Why I’ve Fallen in Love with Shooting Tourists in Cape Town
This shoot confirmed something for me.
I love photographing people who travel here and want the experience captured.
Cape Town is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The ocean. The mountains. The golden light. The luxury lifestyle woven naturally into everyday moments. But when someone visits from another country — especially somewhere as vibrant and rich as Nigeria — there’s a different energy.
There’s excitement. Gratitude. Intention.
They’re not just taking a photo — they’re documenting a milestone. A celebration. A memory they’ll treasure for decades.
These sessions become more than content. They become legacy.
As a photographer, there is something deeply rewarding about being trusted with that. To create images that transport someone back to the feeling of the breeze on a yacht, the warmth of the sun on their skin, the sound of waves crashing at sunset.
And the truth? I absolutely love it.
Luxury travel photography in Cape Town is not about staged perfection. It’s about storytelling. It’s about capturing the essence of who you are in one of the most breath-taking places on earth.
Wumi trusted me to capture her Cape Town experience — and she absolutely owned every second of it. From Nigeria to the Mother City, she came as a visitor and left with a visual story fit for a queen.
And I cannot wait to create the next one.
Cape Town is magic, but when the right woman steps into the frame?
That’s when it becomes legendary. ✨
