Double the Love: A Newborn Story Close to My Heart

Some sessions just feel meant to be from the very beginning… and this was one of them 🤍
It all started with a simple WhatsApp conversation with Andrea. You know those moments where you instantly feel like you’ve found your kind of person? That was exactly it. And then she mentioned something that sealed the deal for me — she had two fawn pugs.
At that point, I jokingly told her she had no choice but to hire me… because clearly, we were already meant to get along perfectly. And honestly? I don’t think I’ve ever been more right.
From that first chat, I just knew this session was going to be something special.

A Home Filled with Love (and Tiny Miracles)
Walking into their home felt like stepping into a space overflowing with warmth. The kind of warmth you can’t stage or pose — it just exists. Soft, natural light filtered through the windows, gently illuminating every corner and creating the dreamiest atmosphere for such a meaningful session.
We started in the lounge area, gathered on the couch — a space that already felt like the heart of their home. Andrea and her partner sat close together, each holding one of their tiny newborns, completely wrapped up in that quiet, overwhelming love that fills these early days. It was soft, it was intimate, and it was beautifully real.
Before long, the pugs made their appearance — hopping up onto the couch as if they knew this was a moment they needed to be part of. And honestly, it couldn’t have been more perfect. The four of them nestled together, with their two furry companions curiously watching over their new siblings, created the kind of scene you simply can’t plan. It was natural, a little bit chaotic in the sweetest way, and full of personality.
These are the moments I live for — the in-between, unscripted ones where everything just falls into place.
From Lounge to Nursery: Capturing the Details
After soaking in those cozy couch moments, we slowly made our way to the nursery. There’s something so special about this space — every detail carefully chosen, every corner filled with anticipation and love long before the babies even arrived.
The nursery felt calm and serene, a gentle contrast to the lively energy of the lounge. Here, we focused on quieter, more delicate moments. Tiny fingers wrapped around mom’s hand, the way the babies settled so peacefully, and those soft, sleepy expressions that change far too quickly in these early days.
It was in this space that time seemed to slow down a little. We captured the stillness, the tenderness, and the beginning of routines that will soon become second nature.
Ending in the Bedroom: Where It All Feels Real
We ended the session in the bedroom — a space that always brings a sense of calm and closeness to a shoot. There’s something about a bed layered in soft textures, with natural light spilling in, that creates the perfect setting for those final, heartfelt moments.

Andrea and her partner sat together once again, holding their babies close, soaking in every second. And, of course, the pugs joined us again — because by now, it wouldn’t have felt complete without them.
They curled up nearby, occasionally inching closer, always wanting to be part of whatever was happening. It added such a beautiful, authentic layer to the session — a reminder that this is their life now. Full, busy, a little unpredictable, but overflowing with love.
The Beauty of These Early Days
Newborn sessions like this aren’t about perfection. They’re about presence.
They’re about capturing the way life feels in those early days — the softness, the stillness, the overwhelming love that quietly fills every corner of the room. It’s about documenting the beginning of a new chapter… one that will one day feel like a blur, but in these photographs, will always remain beautifully tangible.
This session wasn’t just about welcoming two babies into the world. It was about celebrating a family that grew in the most magical way — twice over.

Why This One Meant So Much
Some stories stay with you long after you’ve packed up your camera… and this is one of them.
Maybe it was the instant connection. Maybe it was the shared love for pugs. Or maybe it was simply the undeniable magic of this family and the season they’re in.
Whatever it was, I left this session feeling so grateful — not just to have captured these moments, but to have been invited into such an intimate, beautiful chapter of their lives.
