From Glam to Giggles: A Bachelorette Girls Weekend in Cape Town to Remember

There’s something incredibly special about photographing a bachelorette celebration—especially one filled with so much love, laughter, and luxe vibes. This unforgettable girls’ weekend in Cape Town was the perfect blend of elegance and fun, and I was honoured to capture every single moment. It was the kind of shoot that reminds me why I adore lifestyle photography in Cape Town: it’s raw, real, joyful, and deeply meaningful.

Our weekend began at the always-buzzing V&A Waterfront, one of Cape Town’s most iconic locations. Dressed in dreamy pastel-coloured dresses and heels, the bride tribe absolutely owned the city streets. From soft blush to lilac and muted mint, the colour palette was romantic and cohesive, adding a stylish touch to the morning. The girls strutted, twirled, laughed, and occasionally struck a pose for passing admirers—it was like a spontaneous runway show in the heart of the city.

But it didn’t stop there.

Cape Town, with its natural beauty and urban charm, always offers the perfect backdrop for storytelling. The cobbled paths, harbour views, boats bobbing on the water, and the distant silhouette of Table Mountain gave us layers to play with in our compositions. Whether they were walking hand-in-hand or stopping for coffee, every moment was photo-worthy.

After the city adventure, the energy shifted from glamorous to cosy. We made our way to the luxurious One and Only Hotel, where a surprise pyjama party awaited in their stunning suite. The girls changed into matching blush satin PJs and fluffy white slippers, and the vibe instantly became softer, more intimate—but no less celebratory.

The room was filled with floating white balloons and cascading ribbons, creating a dreamy, playful atmosphere. The bride sat front and centre, glowing with excitement and holding a bouquet of white roses, while her bridesmaids surrounded her with nothing but love and laughter. As the music played, the girls tossed newspapers in the air, danced on the bed, and shared heartfelt toasts. It was a safe space where best friends could just be—no pressure, just pure joy.

One of my favourite parts of the shoot was capturing those candid, in-between moments: the genuine belly laughs, the stolen glances, the quiet reflections. These are the images that last.
