There are shoots… and then there are shoots that feel like they belong in the pages of a luxury travel magazine. Clay and Wumi’s Cape Town session was exactly that — elevated, elegant, and completely unforgettable.

Travelling all the way from Nigeria to experience everything this beautiful city has to offer, they wanted their time here documented in a way that felt iconic. Not just pretty photos — but an experience. Something that captured the essence of Cape Town’s luxury lifestyle and the magic of being surrounded by ocean and sky. So naturally, we began their shoot aboard the absolutely stunning Moonshadow yacht — and honestly, what a way to start.

From the moment we stepped onto the deck, it felt cinematic. The yacht itself is sleek and sophisticated, with polished finishes and open spaces that frame the ocean in every direction. Out on the water, the city fades just enough to make you feel like you’re in your own private world — yet the coastline remains close enough to remind you that you’re in one of the most beautiful destinations in the world.

And then there was Wumi’s outfit. Let’s just take a moment.

That bold, glamorous orange dress against the deep blue sea? Absolute perfection. The fit was flawless, sculpted yet soft, elegant yet powerful. The way the fabric moved with the breeze added such a dynamic, editorial feel to the images. It caught the sunlight beautifully, creating warmth and richness in every frame. Paired with Clay’s coordinated look — equally polished and refined — they looked effortlessly luxurious. Their styling elevated the entire shoot. Every detail felt intentional.

If I say so myself, these images deserve a full spread in a high-end magazine. The composition, the colours, the chemistry — everything aligned. The contrast of vibrant orange against the turquoise water was striking without being overpowering. It felt bold yet timeless.

And let’s talk about the weather, because Cape Town truly showed off for us. Clear blue skies stretched endlessly overhead. The sunlight was bright but clean, reflecting off the water in the most magical way. There was just enough breeze to create movement in Wumi’s hair and dress without overwhelming the moment. It was the kind of day photographers dream of — crisp light, calm waters, and that unmistakable coastal glow.

We started at the helm, with Clay guiding the wheel and Wumi by his side, both smiling into the distance as if setting sail into their next chapter. There’s something symbolic about photographing a couple steering a yacht together — it feels like a visual metaphor for partnership, direction, and shared adventure. As we moved toward the bow, their connection became even more evident. The way he held her. The way she leaned into him. The quiet confidence between them. It was natural, unforced, and so beautiful to capture.

What made this shoot even more special for me personally is that I’ve realised something lately… I think I’ve found my calling. There is something incredibly fulfilling about photographing tourists who come to Cape Town ready to celebrate love, life, and adventure. Capturing people as they experience this city — whether it’s on a yacht, along the coastline, or against our breath-taking landscapes — is such a privilege.

There’s an energy that visitors bring. A sense of excitement. A desire to soak in every moment. And being able to document that joy against the backdrop of Cape Town’s beauty feels so aligned with my heart and my creativity. This city has so much to offer — luxury experiences, dramatic scenery, golden light — and I love being the one who turns those experiences into lasting memories.

Watching Clay and Wumi embrace their time on the water, completely present and completely in love, reminded me why I do what I do. It’s about more than beautiful photos. It’s about preserving the feeling of a moment — the warmth of the sun, the sound of the ocean, the closeness of the person you love.

Clay & Wumi, thank you for trusting me with your Cape Town memories. You brought the glamour, the style, and the connection — and Moonshadow gave us the perfect stage.

If this is what photographing love at sea looks like, then I truly cannot wait for the next adventure. 🌊🧡✨
